ABOUT ME

My childhood home was in South Somerset. I spent twenty four years as a father in a family raising two sons who are now forging independent lives of their own. I returned to South Somerset in 2012 and have just recently relocated to West Dorset. University education included a Physics Degree course in Cardiff, and later a Psychology Degree at Birkbeck College, University of London.
I spent 29yrs at Director level in the NHS, working for Mental Health and Acute NHS Trusts.
My interest in psychology and psychological counselling goes back to the late eighties and early 1990s when I worked as a psychological researcher, psychiatric nursing assistant (forensic) and as a trainee counsellor in the UK’s first Mental Health Walk-In Centre (Lee, South East London).
I recently re-trained at Iron Mill College in Exeter, undertaking their Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling, qualifying in March 2021. As a psychotherapeutic counsellor my major areas of interest are Cognitive Analytic Therapy, Jungian Psychology, Eco-psychotherapy and Complex Trauma.
